What is green cleaning?

What is green cleaning?

We define green cleaning as cleaning practices that are less harmful than traditional methods.

This does not mean we will clean your site with essential oils and lemon juice.

Becoming greener is an ongoing process. It’s important to remember there is no cleaning method that is 100% environmentally friendly, but it is possible to reduce our impact on the planet.

Core Services Cleaning methods achieve the following green goals:
  • Reduce amount of water waste
  • Do not introduce new airborne risks through toxic cleaning products
  • Chose suppliers whose packaging can be recycled

Some of our suppliers are Clover Chemicals Ltd, Diversey Johnson, and Solution World of Clean.

We also use microfibre cleaning cloths. This is an imperfect solution as during washing microplastics are released and end up back in the ocean. To combat this we use microfibre filters that reduce any harmful impact.

We use microfibre cleaning cloths because they leave hard surfaces far cleaner than traditional spray-and-wipe methods. You can learn more about microfibre cleaning by looking at our What is microfibre cleaning? post.

Although we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment we recognize the need to deliver the highest possible standard of cleaning to our clients. We are constantly on the lookout for new cleaning technologies that can perform. Please get in touch if you have any recommendations.

You can find eco-cleaners in many supermarkets now. Over the last 5 years we have experimented with as many products as we could find. As with most domestic cleaning products, they are not suited to commercial settings. You can learn more about domestic vs commercial cleaning products here.

To protect your workplace double down on your existing safety measures.
