How do we train our cleaning operatives?
When we make a new hire we spend at least a week on site with them.
Microfibre cleaning can be different to what they’re used to, so we make sure they are confident with the method.
We also make sure they understand our clients deserve the very best cleaning standards, and it’s their responsibility to deliver.
Each site has quirks and areas that attract more dirt or cobwebs than normal. We help a new operative become acquainted with these areas, and any special preferences our client may have.
Once we’ve completed a week with them we allow them to work a shift alone. We join them on completion for a walkabout together. With new operatives there’s normally something missed. We give constructive feedback so they can meet standards as soon as possible. From then on we will check back once a week and conduct a review at the end of four weeks. We continue with random spot checks, and four-weekly reviews until the completion of three months.
Everything is documented and signed off so if there is an operative who does not deliver high cleaning standards we have a record in place if disciplinary action is required. Although we do not like to terminate contracts with operatives we invest in, our priority is delivering quality facilities to our clients. We have excellent HR policies in place for the rare instances this occurs.
